music..to some, it's merely a form of entertainment..something some people do for to relax with or to loosen up their mind after a hard day's at work..to me, such an opinion is, if you'll pardon my french, BULLSHIT
for me, i believe that music is not entertainment, it's the voice of a musician's heart..fypher, if you're reading this, most of my rant is for you..and i hope there wont be any hard feelings between us about this but i just have to speak my mind after reading what you said..
first of all, i must admit, i'm not a fan of hip hop..but i do like some hip hop songs..i dont mind listening to any types of music as long as it has melody, unpretentious, and comes from the heart..to be honest with you, pop is one of my most favourite genres but guess what, this genre is the most contradicting genre ever..most of it's musicians never write their own material, and tell me, how often do you see a ugly pop singer?..i do agree that hip hop's "law" of rapping about sex, drugs etc..is a bit overbearing and a bit sexist..but why cant music be sad or depressing? i do not find it obnoxious or weird because, music is made by human, and humans are all basically the same..we feel the same kind of emotions..
basically, i just believe that every song carries a story..a story in life, which could either be sad or happy..and that it's an insult for true musicians that music be considered only as a form of entertainment...ok, so that ends my rant ;P my consience tells me not to post this up but hey, it's just me..cant hold back ;P
anyway, whatever things that i said which sparked any hatred, my apolagies..God bless

hm..it's been ages since i've last posted something in this blog of mine -_- wonder how's everyone..sigh..i find that blogging is such a vortex of time and it's like..quite meaningless..if i want the world to know what i feel about it, i could just call my friends out and tell them etc...only problem is that..3/4 of my close friends are all in malaysia..sigh..
anyway, i'm still having my cpop addiction (as you might have noticed with the recommended website of the day being Lee Hom's bbs)..i dont know if i'm suffering from jrock withdrawal symptoms or something..damn..see..i'm not even "bolding" the words jrock...maybe my ears just need a bit of a rest from jrock for a while..
oh well..i've just stopped my job..had enough of the stupid sales thing..btw, i dont think i've mentioned this before but i actually had a part time job as a sales representative (a more sophisticated way of saying that i'm one of those annoying sales man that barge into your home trying to use our "jedi mind tricks" to make you spend $)..the work was commision based which sucks because if you dont sell anything, you're going home empty handed..anyway, i'm done with the job..the $ was pretty alright actually..but what the heck, the job was too uncertain etc..
well, i realized that after getting the job, i've only went out once with my friends..once in a period of 2 1/2 months..i feel like one of those losers in high school with no friends..wait..i'm not one of those guys right? *sweats* by the by, Peter Pan is coming out soon!!! yay!!! cant wait to watch the movie..it's gonna be sOoooOOo GOOD! i'm sure of it..muhahahah..btw, i still havent watched matrix : revolutions yet either -_- sigh..sad desu ne..i heard that the movie kicks @$$.. =((

been listening to lotsa Jay Chou lately..really good stuff..who'd know that today, his songs would be more significant..his sad and yearning ballads..no matter how much happiness love brings to me..i've got to say that there are times when i hate it..to such an extent of fearing it as my worst enemy..which i cant touch or avoid..today..is such a time..

ok..this is my ultra belated post for the VULGAR review which i believe none of you are even interested in *scoffs* -_- oh well..how do i start..the album is kinda wearing thin on me now and i'm also listening to kagrra at the moment..so..erm..let's start track by track..dont misunderstand though, it's a real fabulous album..definitely one of this year's best..anyway, enough babbling
audience KILLER LOOP
the song starts out with an ambience and is then followed by kyo screaming out and all the instruments come in with some keyboard effects
thrown in here and there in the middle of the mesh..things slow down a little before the verse and everything gradually builds up till a strong and slow chorus before dropping down into flatness to build up to a guitar solo which just heightens the emotion..this isnt one of those kigan-esque song which makes you head bang non stop at the chorus, it's more like an army marching slowly to deployment..a good song..it ends again with the familiar scream at the start..
THE III D EMPIRE
a killer riff starts this song and everthing goes metal..i dont know what to say about this song..it's hard in overall and gets heavier in the chorus..not really fond of this song but i like the riff though!! ;P
INCREASE BLUE
another metallish track..the thing just speeds along..i didnt really give this song much thought originally but the chorus "charming smile" (sounds like "jimmy is wild" according to dash2dream..heheh..i'd probably think it's "tgeoiaugh eaougihea oig" if i didnt read the review at Go's site earlier on) is quite addictive (after 10 listens)

this song starts out with a metal-ish riff again..and then the whole song slows down into a sorta final-battle-esque sound for some moments then skips back to the metal bits with kyo doing some cool stuff with his voice and then the chorus plunge in slowly..a beautiful chorus..emotion packed..an interesting note here after the chorus is shinya's techno-ish drumming style..really neat..

this song is really cool!!! the song starts with kyo singing quite innocently and with die strumming melancholicly..the beat suddenly changes into a 70's swingish tune after 17 seconds into the song..a great track!! at the 1:40 point, kaoru does a LUNA SEA-ish solo which is short, simple and sweet..true to the overall feeling of the song..

the song which many said had a smells like teen spirit opening riff..it doesnt sound like it at all though i'm not ruling out the slight connection..it's quite a neat grunge+rockish song this one..it's quite an ok song for me..nothing spectacular except for the ultra-fabulastic solo..it's nothing technically complicated but it's very melodious to me ears..me hearty likes it..and so does me ears..it sounds very LUNA SEA-ish again..with the rhythmn guitr strumming and a lead guitar solo-ing away and slowly builds up for a grand finale solo~

another cool track! starts out metal-ish as usual..what? you mean you still havent gotten the hint after all this tracks on what this album is gonna be like in overall?? oh ok..nvm..overall, this whole song is pretty much like walking on flatground, nothing suddenly jutting out unexpectedly..another cool track with a great melodious chorus..the guitars in here dueling non-stop is just great

frankly..i cant see any difference between the original version and this album mix..still, not to be overlooked, a great track..it's sorta metal-ish in a way but still retaining a distant jrock feel..has this zombie waltz chugga-chuggs going throughout the entire song..which is really cool..chorus contains the usual fare of emotional brazen feelings..
R to the core
starts out metal, then suddenly jumps into punk!! it sounds like a faintly familiar western punk song >_< make that VERY familiar..the way kyo sings in this song is really neat..haah..it's not the wonderful jrock+punk hybrid of JESSICA but it's pretty nice to just get an excuse to jump around..heheh
DRAIN AWAY
the album version..great song all along..the song sounds crisper and has a much tighter sound than the original version..i like this song when i first originally heard it..still do..
NEW AGE CULTURE
dont like this song at all..this is the Pink Killer of this album..bah..skip!!
OBSCURE
the song which was made a PV..for those whom heard the samples for this track from Dir en grey's official website might notice that the keyboards effect for the start (the part which sounds very LINKIN PARK-ish is not there)..frankly, i'd love to have that effects in..but oh well..the song structure basically leaps between a dark+melodious part where kaoru's infamous ghost-movie guitar effects linger around, a heavy part which is noise infected, and the chorus..the track is quite brilliant and i can see why it's the representive track of this album..the chorus is the most emotional in the entire track, one of the best track Dir en grey has ever done..along the lines of zakuro, embryo, aint afraid to die etc..
CHILD PREY
this song, i didnt really like since the start save for the bridge? verse? whatever it's called..the very western-ish part..this song i'll skip sometimes depending on mood
AMBER
the final track of the album..the heavy ballad..it's a nice and soothing track..somehow it reminds me of the feeling SMASHING PUMPKINS last album captured..it's a nice song..it emits a sorta fading light sometimes..lots of things going on with the instruments throughout the entire track..a great way to end Dir en grey's latest gem
in overall, i really like this album, i like almost all of the songs in this album..Dir en grey might not be doing something new, but i feel that they have evolve from their old selves..their music is much more rich in a sense that it's more dense and there's lots of keyboards trinklets in every song..if they bombed this album in the western market, i'm sure it'll do reasonably well, once the western public get past the fact that they're singing in japanese that is..a wonderful album..it comes across me as a mix between GAUZE and kisou at time..if you're a Dir en grey fan, i dont see any reason for you guys not to own this if you have the $ to spare =)
yay! completed my review..hope you guys'll at least find this a little helpful..keep in mind that all of us have different opinions and i'm someone whom prefers melodious music..so..dont try to kill me if i did something wrong k? argh..getting quite late now..gotta wake up early tomorrow to go to TISC..see ya people~take care =D

rox!@!! exams are finally over!! time to burn the books~ wargh!! die books!! *listens to UMBRELLA live* damn..so damn tired now..slept for only 2 hours yesterday night-_-anyway,doesnt matter..as long as exams are fraggin over!!! yeah!! time to indulge myself full time in music..during the course of the week, when i sometimes get the tinge to play some songs on the piano, i'll have this guilty feeling growing inside me (well, not really but..well..) wonder how's everyone..my HITS are not increasing peoplEeEeEEee..*tries to do some magic chant to bring in more hits* -_-
anyway, on latest news, finally been able to start saving $ for a bass guitar and amp! ooOh yeah~ *say that in a Duffman tone* that reminds me, i still have simpsons recorded, waiting patiently for me to devour it's 30 minutes goodness~ and on other news, i bought Lo-Tel's new single and album..i really like their kinda music..good melodious music..and i thought australia's only good band was Silverchair! i think for jrock fans, their sound is a bit similiar to ElDorado but of course, ElDorado is wayyYy better~ the way the guitar lines work, and the constant keyboards and effects floating around..beautiful =) some of their stuff reminds of LUNA SEA a little -_- probably just me..oh damn..i was supposed to be talking about Lo-Tel..
anyway, yeah..good album..pretty similiar to Coldplay too i reckon..minus the annoying vocals -_- honestly, Coldplay's vocalist is like the Yuki (rice, ex-Raphael) of western music..bah..oh yeah, i just heard METALLICA's sorta newish stuff..i must say, St. Anger is pretty ok..but, man..Dir en grey has a tighter and more varied sound than them anyway..and that is most apparent in VULGAR which RULES big time by the way..let's just say, i'm dissapointed in METALLICA -_- dont think i'd wanna get the album anymore..although the dvd+cd was damn tempting..and has a pretty cool cover..but..bah..
well, exams over..heheh..no, it's not a hallucinatory dejavu thing or something..my brain at the moment keeps flashing "EXAMS OVER! HAPPY HAPPY! EXAMS OVER! HAPPY HAPPY!" -_- stupid huh? well, got so much plans to do..plan to get more information for a hopefully possible transfer to Curtin..i mean, no offence against ECU or people studying there but..geez..the quality of some "things" over there and here is VERY VERY apparent..and Curtin even has that cool magazine thing..well, not cool actually..but it's free and it has sorta funny stuff (every now and then)! and you know uni's with a magazine with funny stuff now and then just totally rule right? anyway, plan to find a job too..gotta fund part of my travel back to malaysia for hollidays and get myself a bass and amp asap..my blood is screaming for instruments!! >_<

hm..dono how to really start..cause this is a really vain piece of crap..but anyway, i sorta realized that, it's easy to make melodious choruses for a vocal line -_- i dont know if i'm just imagining things but, i found that out and sorta some self-discovery-ish things about music theories thing..like..unwritten rules..not those "technical teories" things as i have not learnt stuff like that before..hahah..only know some notes crap dung..but dont really bother to see what is a treble or etc..basically, i just write notes in my own way..in the A, B, C#-ish way and the time signature on top of each note ;P heheh..i can barely understand what i wrote months ago!! hahah..talk about ART OF STUPIDITY..anyway, i hope i've crapped enough to not make it seem like i'm some arrogant elitist jerk with what i said earlier on..i'm probably wrong anyway..music to my ear's are probably like dingo's farting sounds to you guys -_-

ok, my com just stuffed up and whatever i typed (which was pretty darn long mind you!) is now gone! >_< dammit..stupid com *does a flying kick to the com*..anyway, i was just rambling about how i'll post reviews on CD's that i buy more often on this bloggie on mine from now on..dont ask me why didnt i do it earlier or something..i just dont know >_< so, after class today, i went to Perth city to scour for some CD (singles) that might can be interested in some western bands (besides the usual repertoire of legendary bands such as the smashing pumpkins, U2, etc...) and i started thinking about Marilyn Manson *hears crowd booing and hissing like all their pets just had rabies* about his image and visual kei..*rip-off*..i always see him as the uglier side of visual kei *rip-off*..you know when you see some visual bands and think "were they closing their eyes or playing counterstrike while they did the make up or something?!?!?" *rip-off*..yeah..that's ugly right? >_< anyway, i thought maybe i should get one of his single off his new album..cause, the papers here and stuff has mentioned how this is his best album yet (BIASED OPINION ALERT : and now i realize, it's not hard to surpass utter crap..)..so i decided to check out his CD..as i didnt actually know Manson's music that well.."WHAT THE HELL!?!?! AND YOU'RE THE #1 DISSER OF MANSON AND HIS MUSIC?!?!?!" yes..yes..i can hear you scream that out..but what i meant by that sentence was that, i just borrowed one of his album (holy wood) from my friend and "tried" (i use the word loosely) to listen to it..and ended up fast forwarding through all the songs (save for some acoustic numbers..wait..they do use acoustic guitars in some of their songs right?-_-) and was totally dissapointed..it was horrible..all the music were "NOISE NOISE NOISE, scream like you swallowed your tongue, NOISE NOISE NOISE"..so, i hated his music since then...
so, as i walked in to the music store (IN2MUSIC), i saw his new single, THiS iS THe NeW *HiT (this is the first time a song title can encapture the song so perfectly..it's really his new "shit" [literally]..i should've known better than to buy it when even the band admits it's bad..maybe the band is trying to sell their music through humourless pun?-_-) shining brightly in it's jewel case under the "best seller" section..hmm..good sign..so i grabbed the single and Good Charlotte's Girls and Boys (this one, i knew i'll like cause i heard one cool verse of the song on the radio once..and the chorus is quite ok ;P)..of course, the first one to face the executioner's axe would be Manson..the CD cover looked ok..with Manson's smug face in a navy commander? (looks-like it) uniform and sporting a at-first-glance-i-thought-was-his-fake-moustouche-but-ends-up-to-be-his-usual-uglier-than-usual-lipstick..hmm..just had a close look, seems more like a huge black clip on his mouth (;P) and in the back picture of the cover was his four band mates with 2 kamijo look-a-likes (hair-wise)..all of them are don in black suits and blonde hair..with jrock reject on the left most side followed by chicken-head, nothing-to-diss-about-although-it's-marilyn-manson dude and finally a toughie wannabe with his finger-nails (painted in red..is he venturing to the visual kei region too?)..now, on to the CD, looks quite allright except that it has a MM logo which is something like the Silver Ash one..oh yeah, the CD cover has this small sticker that says "(M)15+ LOW LEVEL COARSE LANGUAGE, NUDITY" sticker..er..music that contains nudity? O.o "oh..woops, that A-chord sounded a bit "bare", guess your CD has to be categorized as nudity infested single"..ok, sorry, that was my lame attempt at humour (one can always try right?)..i think that's because the CD contains Manson's first single's videoclip..it's mOBSCURE by the way..which is a plus point for Manson..everyone loves extras on their stuff dont they? =D
anyway, i'll start talking about the video clip first..the clip starts with some guy in stilts..ah..damn..forget it..i doubt any of you like Manson at all (like yours truly here)..the brief summary of the video clip is that it's quite ok..and as the title say..it's mostly the band surrounded with army type chicks..and them marching around etc..bla bla bla..argh..i'm getting tired of talking about this band -_- i think Orgy (not that "PERVERTIC" type of orgy k?!?! please dont give me that look..) would be much worth reviewing *tingling bud starts tempting me to get their album cause the single cant be found -_-* anyway, there are three tracks in the single.."This Is The New *hit (Album version)", "This Is The New *hit - Marilyn Manson V's Goldfrapp" and "Baboon Rape Party"
track 1: This Is The New *hit (Album version)
this song starts out with some trance-ish style..and then the song sorta builds up..lots of programming is littered all over the song...to be honest, the this song is quite ok..but the chorus where he screams, it'd be cool if he had a little, what'd you say.."movement" in the chorus instead of just "BWARGH BWARGH"-ish chorus..the ending part of the chorus has this part where a crowd joins in to yell..that part is -_- but one notable part of the song is after the second chorus..the structure of the song changes a little and it's quite nice..overall, i think this song is quite ok and it's growing on me..how'd it fare against a jrock or visual kei song? haha...no competition, +DéspairsRay+ can so kick their butt till Manson even forgets what he's trying to do with his so-called music-ism...
track 2: This Is The New *hit - Marilyn Manson V's Goldfrapp
hm..i dont know what to say about this song..it just screwed up the whole sorta-ok song totally..has this sorta waltzing tempo to it..the entire song is just ultra crappy..save for this part where a female vocalist comes in..which is what i assume the new bridge or chorus which is pretty nice..it at least has more staying power than the original song's chorus..not bad i guess -_- the title track is much better though..one notable part is during the end, everything sorta takes a 180 degrees change and the whole song becomes like this old romantic movie song..hahaha..but still retaining the old lyrics..it's quite commical and the effect is quite clever i must admit..
track 3 :Baboon Rape Party
ok, so after this two quite ok songs, we're treated to..well, i dont know what'd you call it, a 3:22 length intermission-ish song? it starts out with this cheesy olden jazzy type of piano over some digital effects..and then it has some people talking about some crap..something about propaganda etc..or maybe some satanic *hit (no pun intended..hm..actually, that was intended..sorry ;P) knowing it's Manson after all..the whole tune repeats non-stop till 2:30 of the song..some sounds fade out till the end of the song..i mean, yeah, some songs have this 2 to 3 second fade out thing..but an entire minute?? what are you doing people? is your sequencer like based on ??!? heck..at least 40 seconds were just blank..-_- this song is just crap..
well, i think in overall, this is quite an ok CD for me..i think i'll probably think 2 of checking out new singles by Manson in the future (instead of just shoving it off a corner and hope someone leans on the rack and causes all those CD's to fall and break)..sorta made me interested in his stuff..hm..i think for me, this CD is a 5/10? -_- damn, this is quite a long post now..i'll post my Good Charlotte single review tomorrow..
now, for the usual dosage of jrock goodness..have you guys seen the snippet of Dir en grey's OBSCURE PV? the PV is quite artsy in a gross way >_< but i like the song, minus the noise fueled part before the chorus...i think i rank the chorus as emotional as mushi (from kisou)..it's really neat..it's not a wonder that this song is like the PR of this album ;P hehhe..well, i think this song is probably a combination of pink killer and kasumi / drain away for me..hope i can lay my hands on a copy of VULGAR T_T i want it badly T_T btw, the cover reminds me of one ofSADS's older album cover..heheh...
ok, i guess i'll stop here for now..hopefully, i can get a bass asap..my hands itch non-stop all the time (ever since i was in high school) to play string-ish intruments..and now, i hear my calling in bass guitars!! hail hail~ >_< i'm not making any sense..ok, ganbatte ne..enjoy your day and take care =D

so much is happening in my life at the moment..but i'm feeling too sick to talk about it..gonna go sleep now..below is a poem i wrote as i listened to hyde's THE OTHER SIDE, some words appears in the song ;P well, i dont care if you're going to call it plagiarism, i'm just writing what i feel / hear when i listen to the song..
on a side note, i'm really getting addicted to hyde's HELLO single..the title track is quite ok for me..and the c/w is just beautiful in a dark way which reminds me of LUNA SEA often..although the song style etc..is entirely different..anyway, i'll stop here for now..g'night folks..take care

hmm..i've just noticed that the counter actually moves and has people visiting this site!!!!! THE SHOCK!!!! and this made me have the initiative to finally update with another post =)
quite a lot has happened to me since my last post..with me deciding that EB both sux big time and doesnt sux..yes..contradiction is my middle name..along with others (@$$h0le, $elf-cente®ed b@$t@®d, b|@®+ch etc..the list is just too long..)..anyway, the reason why i hate them so much is because of my own fault (yes, i also blame everyone in the world before finally realizing it's my fault ;P)..ok, on to the reason, i bought a music creating cd! yes!! finally..but it's the "music mix master thing..yes, the one with the ugly to the core DJ at the front..dont ask me why i did that..it just happened..the balance of the cosmos was inappropriate or something and it just happened!! dont stare at me like that!!! >_< i'm actually the victim here!! i thought it could make music..i thought me and it could make beautiful music together *cries while hugging the cd*..and it was only AUS$10!! T_T think about it!! wouldnt you be tempted too!?!??! wouldnt you?!?!?! so, when i got home, installed it..tried it..realized it was some sorta tool for DJ wannabes to mix samples together and not create samples..i didnt touch it since then..and it's staring me in the face right now with a look so agonizing that i just couldnt return it to EB for a refund or something..well..er..it could come to use someday ne? hehe..er..hehe...
anyway, a few weeks later..it was just after my morning class on thursday..i always feel happy on thursdays cause class finishes early, and it's the start of the long weekend~ so my friend decides to go to EB and i go "what the hey..i'll be probably wasting my life away at home on the net also.." and lo and behold, as i stepped in, a copy of MUSIC 2000 was staring me right in the face!! and at a discounted price of AUS$20 too!!! not much happened in the brain compartment, just remember me walking out with my goofy grin covering my entire face while holding the game..er..software..er..toy..
well, that marked the start of my trying to compose on good software era now..and remember my 20++ pieces of songs which i did earlier on? i chucked it all away..i dont know what got into me or how i turned into such an ignorant idiot..if myself 1 year ago saw me now, i'd have kicked my butt so hard i cant even sit for a century..i was making music according to my brain!?!?!? whatever happened to my dream..geez..thank God i got my senses back..i owe it very much to Nikita-san..whom i shall proclaim, the next Gackt and my target to achieve (at the moment)...he let me hear one of his song, Sekka..it's just a gorgeous piece of piano ballad..beautiful..mesmerizing..and sad..i sorta losed my fighting spirit a little aftear hearing that song, knowing i'll not be able to do something that good..but he's the one whom consoled me and supported me back to my feet..what a great guy huh? as i told him, if i was a girl, i'll really die to have a boyfriend like him..*bows*
...well, guess what, lately, i've been getting quite addicted to moon hee jun..i'll be having a review on his albums coming up in the next few weeks or months..it's just ridiculous how such a good musician is ridiculed in his own country..sheeshh..oh yeah, i've just dowloaded one of Joe Hisashi's works (after a long time)...mesmerizing work it is..sigh..the world is filled with so many talented musicians..my ultimate dream and goal is to at least make some music which is near such calibre..a wish..

wow..it's been quite sometime since i last posted something up T_T but nobody misses ugly ol' me *sobs* pretty expected~ bah..in pain lately (see how i seamlessly change topic? hm..wait, it's not much of a change of topic ne..i'm still talking about moi >_<)..anyway, as i was saying, i'm in painnn >_< pain pain pain..first, i have an ulcer in my throat (woopee~ cant eat yummy food without cringing like someone stabbed my stomach), then i have an ulcer on my tongue (nothing to complain about..always happens), then i burned the top side of my mouth (F***ing eggs!! if you're hot inside, be hot outside too dammit!!!)..and today, i sprained my neck T_T i was watching "Judge Judy" (after "Rosi" argh..how the hell you spell it..the name "Rosy O' Donell" keeps coming to mind but it's not and who the heck is that??!?!? anyway, let's just called it the "R' Show" and also after "Jerry Springer"..yes, i hate that show, but what the hey, supposed-hookers are telling their husbands they lost their teeth in one of their clients cars are pretty interesting O.o and how about a lady whom masturbates with a cone (those they use to stop traffic)..i can just see it beside Shakespeare's works in 50 years time~*rolls eyes*), and when i stood up, everything was a-ok (body : all systems, ready to go~bzzz bzzzzz) but a few steps away from my room (where i'll lay and waste my time resting again), (body: woop~woop~ malfunction, someone didnt close the neck latch, his caliparies is gonna leak out~ quick, emergency shutdown in neck unit..kapish) *does something close to what micheal jackson's dances in the future will be like..well, minus the crotch touching of course* and i start "argh..the pain"-ing..
stuff like this really sux..and it's only the beginning of the week..what did i do wrong in my karma diary?? T_T maybe dowloading too much mp3's and not starving my butt off is taking it's toll -_- anyway, enough whining..the site for today is Soulseek's site..get this program (for pro-mp3's people) and your jrocking life is secured (almost, now all that is left is to do some yaoi with your fav. jrocker)..bah..i'm in a real horrible mood..pain everywhere, crapping madly..i think i better stop here now..

i'm still having the SUGIZO new single fever..blardee good single man!!! (;P) i dont know if i'm being a biased dip-shit but i definitely rank this as one of this year's best single (that i've heard so far)..it's that good to me ne..anyway, i've updated my 2nd last crap with my review on the other c/w for the NO MORE MACHINEGUNS, PLAY THE GUITAR single..it'd be a little weird to see pieces of review of a single here and there ne? anyway, hope it's usefull for those thinking of buying baroque's single instead..pahh..baroque, who needs em' when you've got SUGIZO instead eh? -_-
anyway, the above link has info on most (if not all) of the visual rock indies bands in the scene today..it's like this huge database of visual kei (there arent any major visual kei band are there? >_<) ne..anyway, it has song samples, member info, live schedules etc..on that site..so if you're looking to try out some stuff which you're afraid isnt worth your $ or mp3 d/l time *ducks raging anti-mp3's-fans* then try this site =)
went to a videogames store, Electronic Botique today to search for the cd i wanted..electronic my @®$e..the shop was almost the size of my bathroom..and they stock all shitty games that no one in their right mind would want..i mean, who'd want "music mix master 2000" with some dorky looking cartoon dj at the front cover..or "tomb raider IVIVIII" (i've lost count how many are there) or "warcraft 3" (finished it ;P)?? stock up on real good stuff like "MTV MUSIC GENERATOR" people..then you MIGHT get some real business -_- *sidenote for those people at the back there preparing to lob tomatoes and criticism at me; sense sarcasm in this paragraph? yes..that's right..now you might wanna drop your weapons and inch 20 metres away from it..good*..and i had to eat meal at 3pm++ (my tummy cant stand it..the pain..the agony of going home empty handed with such high hopes..ruined in 3 hours of walking...)

this tracks are all from Dir en grey's upcoming album, VULGAR..remember, they're all only 25 seconds+- samples~ so it's a little hard to judge the quality etc..but so far, i've already found at least 3 songs i really like from those few samples, obscure, saijyo no uta and marmalade chainsaw! these few tracks, i loved upon first listen, especially obscure which i feel is like a mixture between Drain Away and kasumi which is very good! =D saijyo no uta is definitely a Die song..it has that audrey (MACABRE album) feel dont you think? =)
anyway, i've been really swept off my feet (not by a tall handsome and dark stranger) by SUGIZO!! well, it's his music to be exact..really, this single is definitely the #1 single of the year ne..i'll be a tease and give you the link for the mp3 only tomorrow ne? (;P) i'm such an @$$hole ne? hahah..well, a brief rundown on the tracks;
NO MORE MACHINEGUNS, PLAY THE GUITAR
you just know that with such a strong statement, it's gonna be one hell of a kick@$$ song..it not only does that, it polishes it after the kicking and starts pushing you down butter with it~ throughout the whole song, it's like a tough journey and when it reaches the chorus, it's just like melted cheese..smooth~ the song is layered with lots of nice and appropriate breathy parts..and it's just..a damn great song i say! and to think this was the c/w from his previously would be released single but got cancelled >_<

*sobs* how do i even start describing this beautiful song?..no words can just describe it's beauty..the song is basically divided into two parts; "reminiscence" and "walking forwards again"..the song starts off with the powerful chorus which will blow you away as soon as it starts off, this part, i call the "walking forwards again" bits where you can feel a little regret but filled with faith..and the verse is the "reminiscence" where you can feel the loneliness and sadness..from SUGIZO's voice itself..at the 3rd minute, a slow and melancholic guitar solo (with SUGIZO's trademark style) followed by a burst of the chorus again..and slowly softens down to the end with SUGIZO crooning "remind me"..it's just a real beautiful ballad..with songs like this, i really feel SUGIZO can make it into the world music market..honestly, if some people werent racist #$*&^@*&% who'll judge music by their ethnics..
well, you can tell that i really love this song very much (;P) i can really see this song as some sorta big function anthem..somehow, i get a feeling that this song is about reminding all of us about life and how precious it is? before writing this review, i just thought of it as a damn good song, but i've understand it (without even understanding it's lyrics) that it's in light about the wars that's happening around us..i hope i didnt "feel" wrongly..this is what i feel from this song and it's few english lyrics..

i dont know what does that mean but anyway, it's a real neat song ne..it starts out a little jazzy and the whole song is accompanied by this wacky piano playing (i assume it's ryuichi sakamoto at work here)..the song starts off straight away with a "hardcore jazz" feel with SUGIZO flowing (with english lyrics i might add! which i cant understand too! gonna try to listen properly later) and it has lots of nu-metal-ish guitars going along the whole song..and the when the chorus starts off, it's just so cool..SUGIZO's guitar comes in prettily with a guitar-solo cum-chorus with Lori's (from Spank Your Juice) breathy vocals humming over the layers of music with jazzy tunes..some trumpet's comes in after the chorus with wild piano going everywhere again..and with turn-tables scratching wildly..if i'm not mistaken, this is the tune which was supposed to be released as Hard Core Jazz from SUGIZO's would be 3rd single, MOUNTAIN but the single got cancelled and we got this fabulous single in replacement (;D) a great song by far~
i know i'll definitely be buying this single..it's really damn good..i know regret buying my baroque single..it just aint worth it in comparison to SUGIZO's single..and yes, Gloomy, SUGIZO really did bring me back to the reality of music..not just to indulge in pretty faces and youth..haha...is it in a way "reminding me" about music too? -_- you know when someone makes a song, and the first time you listen to it, you just know it's something that came out from their heart? this is one of those rare songs..if you have the $ to spare..buy it..i'm 100% sure you wont regret it..and on a plus point, no jpop Ryuichi Kawamura's vocals here (;P) *ducks lobs of tomatoes from RK fans..
